My Kindle won't take a charge (stays on yellow when trying

Customer Question

My Kindle won't take a charge (stays on yellow when trying to charge) and nothing works. What do I do now?
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: I got it in February last year as a gift. Kindle (7th Generation) USB charging cable, built in recharging battery. That's all the info I have on the box and no other papers were included.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: This just started today. I've tried charging it - once it worked but only for 2 pages. Now the orange light is on when recharging but after an hour there's no difference.
JA: Anything else you want the eReader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No - just need to know how to get it started again.

Hello

Welcome

Please reset the kindle by holding down the on/off switch for 40 seconds (use a watch to time) ignore any messages the kindle may display, then release your finger the kindle should reboot and re-load the operating system, you may have to do this both on and off the charger and upto 4 times before it resets.

Let me know if you need more help

I've already tried to hold down the button - that doesn't work. Not happy with tech service.
