Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

The situation is one that I must express some sympathy for.

The lost Kindle's books are still available to you, on the new Kindle, once you register it with your Amazon.com account - if those books were bought from Amazon, they are still there in your account and may be downloaded to your new Kindle.

To register your Kindle with your Amazon.com account, do as follows:

Turn On the Kindle.

When it starts up, connect it to your local WiFi internet. (If you need instructions on how to do so, let me know.)

(More instructions to be posted in a moment....)

....Then, on your Kindle, when you see the Home screen (the basic screen) you

swipe your finger down from the top of the screen, and then

tap on MORE

then tap on MY ACCOUNT

then tap on REGISTER.

Enter your Amazon.com account information (Note: if you don't have an Amazon.com account, you will need to create one in order to register your Kindles to an Amazon.com account.)

And that's it!

Ask me if you need further information.

And if this answers your question, please rate my answer - a five-star rating would be appropriate and appreciated! Thanks, ***** ***** your Kindle Fire tablet.
