my kindle lost all of my information and wants me to reset. I try to reset and in tells me an error has occured or time out and retry. what do I need to do and can I get all my games and books and things back on line

I got the message that the kindle needed to be registered. All my games, books and information appears to be wiped off of the kindle when it tries to load the reset infor it states that it timed out and try again. I have tried off and on for the last two weeks and get no where.

it just came up with file failed when i went to the help screen for information
