i have an older kindle the one with the keyboard at the bottom.
yesterday I had a problem connecting to the wifi. that wound up working today, but now when I turned it on its asking for a password ***** I have now idea what it is. I have tried entering an incorrect password ***** as suggested and nothing.

Hi, thanks for using I am Cris and will be glad to assist you with your question. You can reset your Kindle by entering###-##-####as the passcode. That will reset it, you will then have to connect to WiFi and register the Kindle to your Amazon account. Once you do you will have access to the books on your account.
