My MasterCard had been compromised and I had to cancel it.

Customer Question

My MasterCard had been compromised and I had to cancel it. In the meantime I have tried unsuccessfully to enter a new credit card number. Needless to say I can no longer order books. Any suggestions?

Hello and sorry you're having problems. To update the credit card information- you can't do it on the Kindle itself. You need to use a PC and go to Amazon.com to do this. It will be under "Update Payment settings" in your Amazon account. You can read more at the link below:

If you need further assistance let me know. Please do not forget to click a POSITIVE RATING before you go- as it's how I am credited for my work. You can follow up at any time, at no additional cost.

Hello, I’m Nathan, and I’ll be assisting you today. My livelihood depends on your positive feedback, so your satisfaction is my highest priority. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble. There are a few specific steps you'll have to take here. The likely issue is that you have a card on file for your amazon account, but had been making purchases via the amazon website. If you didn't specifically associate a particular card with the kindle, or configure one to a one click setting for the kindle then you could face this issue. There are a few easy steps to fix this though.First, go here:{C}· Manage Payment Options (click for link)there you can be sure your card/bank info is correct (right address, valid expiration date, etc) From there, go here:{C}· Manage Your Content and Devices (click for link)On this page, click on the SETTINGS tab at the top right, then you can from there set a default card to be used for one click purchases on the kindle.Under Kindle Payment Settings, click on the Edit Payment Method button, and you can set the card you want used for your kindle purchases. Then, you'll need to cancel the outstanding purchases here: View Your Kindle OrderThen repurchase them: http://amzn.to/1CxUAD3 After that, reboot the kindle by pressing/sliding and holding the power button for 20+ seconds, and it should operate normally from there. Let me know if you get stuck,Nathan

My apologies, I didn't realize that the first 2 links were filtered out by the site, I'm resending that portion here:
First, go here:
http://amzn.to/1NupYm0
there you can be sure your card/bank info is correct (right address, valid expiration date, etc)
From there, go here:
http://amzn.to/1GLiBmn
On this page, click on the SETTINGS tab at the top right,
then you can from there set a default card to be used for one click purchases on the kindle.
Under Kindle Payment Settings, click on the Edit Payment Method button, and you can set the card you want used for your kindle purchases.

I'm sorry about that, it looks like the site filters were blocking or partially blocking the links, I'm going to try resending everything from the beginning here.
