Reset your reader by pressing and holding the power button for 20 seconds. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Still nothing.

Let's try to force a reboot. Plug the charging cord into the Kindle. After 15 minutes and while still plugged into the charger, press and hold the power button for one minute. Let me know if this fails to correct the problem. I will need to know if the kindle turns off and on and also if you get a yellow light when plugged into the charger.

That worked and yes a yellow light comes on when it's plugged in. Thank you so much but may I ask what caused it not to respond? Can the Kindle battery be overcharged? I left it plugged all weekend while I was out of town.
Expert:  AnswerManRob replied 4 years ago.

Most likely the charging firmware just needed reinstalling. You should be fine.
