I too seem to be in the same loop of redownloading the same update. I cannot use the Kobo application to eject my reader and several of the new books I have added to my library are not completely loaded. What needs to be done on my end to correct this issue?

Well let me know how it goes?
Would the best way to fix this issue be to delete and reinstall the Desktop application? I'm caught in a loop to download (on my computer) the latest desktop update. Once it is installed I go to the Kobo desktop and the update popup reappears and the only way to get out of it is to either upload or cancel. This has been going on for a few days. I have turned my computer off several times as I know that sometimes the whole system needs to reboot for the new application or update to be completely installed. This is getting annoying.
Hi Michele, Yes if issue is on the desktop software, please delete it and will reinstall the latest verison instead;

Turns out I had to delete the program twice from my computer and also reset the ereader. The first delete and reinstall I still got caught in the update loop I then reset the ereader and tried again. then I had to again delete the program from my desktop but this time I didn't get caught in the update loop. Why is this happening and is Kobo aware of this happening?
Seem to be an issue with the update and the way it is effecting everyone, I am sure Kobo is now aware of the issue and will be addressed with yet another update. You may report your issue as well here - > help@kobobooks.com
Well glad your persistence paid off and happy reading aye :)
