I was using my Kindle Fire and was scanning through a friends

Customer Question

I was using my Kindle Fire and was scanning through a friends photos on facebook. The screen is frozen on one of the photos and the clock stopped. If I turn it on, the green light comes on only for a second and shuts off. It is fully recharged. I even tried plugging it in.I can't get it out this one photo and no other buttons work to change to a different screen. What do I do?

Already Tried:
Plugging it in to the power cord, although it is fully charged. Turning it off and on. When I do that the green light comes on and then goes right off. I've tried hitting the left arrow and also the house sign. Nothing is working.

Hi,

If you have a leather (or any other) cover on the kindle, please remove it.

Please press & hold the power button on the kindle for about one minute, or until the screen flickers. Then wait a few minutes for the kindle to turn back on, and check.

If that does not work, please recharge the kindle for about 5 minutes, and while it is charging, press & hold the power button on the kindle for about one minute again, or until the screen flickers, and check.

I got it to shut down, should I try to press the button for it to turn back on, or should it come back on on it's o0wn?

Usually, it comes back on after a few minutes, if it does not work, then press the power button for a few seconds for it to turn back on. If needed, press & hold the power button for about 20 seconds to see if it can turn back on. Thank you.

I pressed and held the power button for 20 seconds. The kindle fire name came on twice across the screen, then went away. The screen is black and the green light is not on. I didn't try to recharge yet, although when it was on, it was fully charged.

Please try the 2nd method: Please recharge the kindle for about 5 minutes, and while it is charging, press & hold the power button on the kindle for about one minute again, or until the screen flickers, and check. Thank you.
