can`t connect my Kindle to wi-fi
Already Tried: Am kind of old. Sons have written wi fi password XX the box. Kindle won`t accept this
Hello, I’d like to help you with your problem. When you are satisfied with my answers, please remember to click on accept. You may be using the incorrect password. Before proceeding further, please reboot both the router (unplug power for 60 seconds) as well as the kindle (slide and hold power switch for 20 seconds)Then try the password XXXXX if it still doesn't work it may be the wrong password.
rebooted like you said and retried password. Still telling me password XXXXX one or more characters
Then you are probably using the wrong password. Are you sure you're connecting to the correct network? You may be trying to log into a neighbors network, so of course the password XXXXX work. You can ask your sons to confirm the network name and password, or if you let me know the make/model of the router, I can give you instructions to look it up from your computer in the router setup program.
The network name is MamsHouse and the router is Linksys wireless-n home router
From the address bar of your web browser, go to http://192.168.1.1 (click for link to open in new window)
User: blank(empty)
Pass: admin
This will log you in to the router admin/configuration page. Look for the Wireless or Wireless Security tab.
Here you will see your SSID (network name) and your security/encryption key (password)
Sorry to be so stupid. Couldn`t find SSID but found under management password, but it was just all dots.
The SSID may be on the previous page, under Wireless.Management password XXXXX XXXXX admin password XXXXX the router, not the wifi password. Keep looking in the wifi or wireless setup pages, you'll see network name and security key (password)
My goodness looks like it works. It says connected to MamsHouse
Great, I'm glad you were able to connect!
