My kindle is stuck on "Empty Battery." How do I get it "unstuck" ? I followed the instruction on this page--and could not get it to work.

Did you do this: press/slide & hold the power switch on the kindle for one minute, then turn it back on and check?

No, I followed Kindle's message. It said 15 seconds, not 1 minute, that's what I did. However, I just did it for 1 minute and it failed to fuction/ It's still on Empty Battery

Sorry. If you have a leather (or any) cover on the kindle, please remove it.

Can you recharge the kindle, and press/slide & hold the power switch on the kindle for one minute again while it is charging, then turn it back on and check?

If it still does not work, how old is the kindle?

I've out ohe leather case, now to go to an adjacent room in my home, to run the test while it is charging

Answering your question, "How old is my Kindle?" It's 7 months, I bought it August or Setember, 2011.

You just press & hold the power button while it is charging for about one minute. When you do that, does it turn off the kindle?

Now when you turn the kindle on, it's just stuck on "Empty Battery"?

Yes, it is stuck on Empty Battery and nothing that I've doneto get it off and running, nor all the tests I did undr your direction have helped.
