Customer Question

While using our Nook tablet, the screen went blank, and would not respond to anything. We touched the screen, we tried to shut it off, nothing would work. We just see a faded blue/black screen

Hello and thank you for using JustAnswer.

Try resetting the software. To do this, Turn off your NOOK Color completely by pressing and holding down the power button for about 3-5 seconds.
Tap Power Off.
Depress the power button and the home button at the same time for 20
seconds.
After one minute, turn it back on.

Let me know if this fails to resolve it. If it does, please remember to accept my answer.

You say home button is that the same as the "n" button at the bottom of the unit. This is a tablet not the color.

Try pressing the power button for 30 seconds. Let me know if that fails.

Sorry, wrong key. That did get it to shut off. holding the button it gave me a low battery message. i will let it charge and see what happens. it died a few hours ago and at that time had close to 75% charge. What makes it just go blank while you are using it?

Hopefully just a software glitch. It should be okay now. Leave it plugged in for about 15 minutes and without unplugging it, press and hold the switch for 30 seconds again. Then allow it to charge.
