My Kobo e-reader is stuck with the screen "updating". I have tried to reset it to no avail.Tom
Already Tried: I tried the paper clip reset on the back
Make sure have a good charge then...Turn off the device. Turn it back on while holding the HOME button. This will trigger the factory reset. There is no YES/NO prompt - and please don't turn off the unit while it's doing this.
The reader will not respond to the Off/On button.TOC
Another option would be to force the Kobo into an update mode 1. download the latest Desktop application at http://download.kobobooks.com/desktop... (For PC) http://download.kobobooks.com/desktop... (For mac) 2. Put your Kobo into upgrade mode by holding Menu+ Centre DPAD+ paperclip reset on the back of the device (you have to hold all 3 at the same time) this will force the Kobo to blank out and the light at the top will turn red 3. install the desktop application and press ctrl+ shift + u on the keyboard to turn on the update wizard. 4. follow the instructions but skipping through until step 5 (step 1 is redownloading the software which you should allow to happen) 5. follow all the steps to re-upgrade the Kobo.
I tried several times with the three point stance without result.TOC
