My nook color is pluged in but it says that its not charging. && I just bought a new power cord, does this happen alot?

It could either be the charger has gone bad or your Nook needs rebooting. To do this, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Then plug it in and see if it charges.

I already did that, and it still doesnt charge.

Let's try to force a reboot. The battery charging circuits are controlled by the software as well. If the software isn't allowing the Nook to accept a proper charge, it may cause the Nook to malfunction too. Plug the Nook into the charger for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes and while still plugged in, slide and hold the switch for 30 seconds. If this doesn't correct the problem, let me know the approximate purchase date.
