THE 5 WAY BUTTON DOES NOT WORK ON MY KINDLE

This could be either the switch itself or your software may be glitched. Try rebooting your Kindle by sliding and holding the power switch for 20 seconds. Your Kindle operating system should reload within three minutes. If this does not occur or the Kindle still malfunctions, please let me know. hI AND TY FOR TAKING MY QUESTION. I DID REBOOT MY KINDLE AND ALSO RECHARGED IT. THE BUTTON DOES NOT WORK IN ANY OF THE SETTINGS, UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT AND ENTER.
How long have you owned the Kindle? Do you remember approximately when you purchased it?
IT WAS AT CHRISTMAS TIME 2009
It would be an easy repair, but I'm not sure if anyone can obtain the switch.
You did notice it rebooting when you rebooted?

The screen should go blank and then you will see a loading icon as the system reloads.
