Hello and thank you for using JustAnswer
Just let me know when you're ready
Your software may be corrupt. Try rebooting your Kindle by sliding and holding the power switch for 20 seconds. Your Kindle screen should flash and the operating system reload. If this does not occur or the Kindle still malfunctions, please let me know.
70% through reload
Sounds like this may work!!
seems to have worked trying two or three books. why would this have happened>
Sometimes the software gets corrupted
Your Kindle is basically a mini-computer
Rebooting will restore the software. That's why I was happy. A software reboot is a lot cheaper than sending it for repair. ;-)
it happened just after switching off the wi -fi would this be common
It can become corrupt at any time
