Customer Question

Customer: My name is ***** *****. I have a question about drug testing and ketones. Would a diabetic person who has ketones or ketoacidosis test positive for alcohol drug test?
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: Would a person with ketones test positive for alcohol if ketones were present at the time of a drug test? Is it possible that person didn't drink any alcohol, could the test indicate a false positive because of the ketones?
JA: OK got it. Last thing — JustAnswer charges a fee (generally around $18) to post your type of question to Drug Testing Experts (you only pay if satisfied). There are a couple customers ahead of you. Are you willing to wait a bit?

Hello

to answer the question, no.

This will not cause a false positive in alcohol testing.

Regardless of any medical issues, it will not.

No, this would not cause a positive drug test.

However, some things that you use on a day to day basis could like hand sanitizer that has alcohol and mouth wash

Did you use any of those?

Thank you for your question:

Was this a urine, blood or breath test?

Was it a test for alcohol itself or EtG - a metabolite of alcohol?

Was there a delay in testing the specimen? Was the specimen stored at room temp?

please don't forget a positive rating. I appreciate it :)
