I took some of my wife's percocet for pain in December/January and recently took a hair test for my job. The hair on my head was too short, so they took it from my armpit. I know for sure they are testing for things like percocet because the release I signed said something about Vicodin. What are my chances of passing?

Thank you for your question:With body hair, the the rate of growth is slower, so potentially the detection period is in the 6-12 month range.Depending on a number of factors including the actual rate of your hair growth, the amount of Percocet taken (number of times, total dose, how long you had been taking this), you MAY get a positive test. It is also possible to get a negative. Unfortunately, there is really no way to know for sure. You are going to just have to keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Ok. Can you tell me how long it takes to get the results?
In my experience, hair test results are usually available in 5-7 days. It varies from lab to lab; transport times, actual testing, clerical delays in sending results etc.
Would that be business days? Also, would it help at all if I could provide more information?
Yes, generally 5-7 business days. The more doses you took, the longer you took the medication (days, weeks etc) and the closer to the test that you took the drugs, the more likely you would be to get a positive. There are really too many variables, particularly the specific rate of hair growth which can vary from person to person by as much at 50% or more - particularly body hair.I wish I could give you the answer that you are looking for, but honestly it would only be a complete guess.
