Dr. C. :

I am glad to help you. Answers are intended to provide general medical information only.

Dr. C. :

Diazepam has a relatively long half life.

Dr. C. :

For most people it is cleared within 7-10 days but some of this may depend on a persons height and weight.

Dr. C. :

Three weeks seems like enough time for someone of average BMI.

Dr. C. :

Avoiding coffee may speed clearance.

Dr. C. :

Taking St. Johns Wort may also speed clearance.

Dr. C. :

Both those measures are easy to do.

Dr. C. :

It may also be possible to find a "head shop" close to you to purchase a testing kit so that a pretest can be done before the real testing day.

Dr. C. :

Please ask questions if you have any. Otherwise good luck!

Half-life is the time that it takes for 1/2 of the drug to be gone from the body. For example if 2 hours is the 1/2 life, in 2 hours there will be 1/2 of the drug left, in another 2 hours 1/4 left, in another 2 hours 1/8 left, in another 2 hours 1/16th left, etc. The longer the half life of a drug, the longer it can be detected in the body. These medications are stored in the fat so the drug will be detectable longer in heavy, overweight and obese people. Taking St. Johns Wort at 900mg daily can speed up the metabolism of the drug because it increases the system in the liver that removes these medications from a persons blood. On average these medications will be out of the blood stream in 7-10 days. If a person is obese it may take longer. Drinking coffee interferes with the metabolism of these medications so avoiding coffee will also help speed up the clearance. Taking 900mg of St. Johns Wort daily revs up the metabolism for clearance. So doing all of those would greatly increase the chance of a negative test in as soon as 10 days. If a person is obese or overweight it may take longer. A 'Head shop" often carry urine testing kits so that a person can run a pretest before the real test. I hope this was clearer and more helpful than my first answer.
