Do you have any training in psychology or the social sciences? I have no formal training in dream interpretation, but I am very interested in the subject...I have read many books and studied it on my own time...have you done anything like this whereas you would be considered an expert?
I did a couple of years of Social Sciences (psychology and sociology) courses at University, but did not finish.
Have you studied dream interpretation at all?
Not officially, just as far as looking up many of my own and my partner's dreams in a dictionary.
I would suggest starting out by reading some books on dream interpretation...this is one I've used...http://www.amazon.com/Dream-Sight-Dictionary-Guide-Interpreting/dp/0738726028/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333941306&sr=8-1
I don't see why you couldn't try to become a dream interpreter on here, once you've read a few books...I don't think you have to have a certification in order to interpret dreams, many people do it on the side of where their true interests lie.
I am really interested in finding some course that I could possibly take online, that would provide more of a curriculum. Although I am certainly open to reading books, I like to have a little more structure.
I would love to interpret dreams on here, but the qualifications say I have to be licensed.
(or have finished a degree)
Ah, okay. The classes I do know of cost around what you've already found ($65 and up). I am sorry, I didn't realize you had to have some type of licensure in order to interpret dreams..sorry about that!
Well, that was my question. How do I become licensed?
Once you take the training classes you are then eligible for certification...it also depends on what type of dream interpretation you are interested in.
What training classes? Can you give me some direction here?
So in order to have a license you have to have some type of licensure through the state such as a licensed professional counselor or a licensed clinical professional counselor. However you can obtain a certificate of dream interpretation through this web page (for example) http://yoursoulcoach.com/2010/05/12/gateway-dreaming-certification/
In order to obtain such licensure you have to have a masters degree.
That is the course I found that is $877... more than I hope to spend for an online course!
However! The certification should assist with you being able to interpret dreams. There are some sites that are only out there in order to assist with your interest in dream interpretation; thus you need to make sure the site you sign up for in order to obtain your certification is one that will allow you said certification. If it is a site like this one: http://www.universalclass.com/i/course/dream-interpretation-101.htm They do not allow for you to have a certification afterwards.
I would agree...I think $877 is redic. Let me see if I can find something else
This site is interesting, but it doesn't have the prices...which is suggestive of being $$. http://www.newdreamwork.com/certification-programs.html
This web site says you do not need a certification or license in order to practice dream interpretation.... http://www.infuzemag.com/There-Are-Many-Dream-Interpretations.php
Thanks for taking a look for me. I guess I will do some more digging on my own, and definitely check out that book you referred me to. It looks really good!
It is! I love the books that are out there...amazon has some great ideas and references!
cool, well thanks again!
