He's clustering - more than one seizure within 24 hours - and clustering can presage status epilepticus - the state in which seizures don't stop unless I heavily sedate or anesthetize my patient. Seizures at Max's age are usually due to brain tumor but I also need to consider a poorly functioning liver or kidneys (hepatoencephalopathy and uremic encephalopathy, repsectively) intoxicating his brain.
