Customer Question

my dog is a 1 year old pit bull/lab mix and she has been avoiding food and water all day. she has been vomiting white foam since this morning and her stool is not solid with bloody looking mucus
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did your dog eat anything unusual?
Customer: Not that we know of. She ate a chew bone, one of the raw hid ones. She also gets into the cat food, that is the Hills Sinece Diet for Urinary.
JA: What is the dog's name?
Customer: Star.
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Star?
Customer: She also has several stuffed animals, that are not so stuffed any longer.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me:

How long has she has these signs? Just today?

How much blood was in her stool? A spoonful, more or less?

Can she keep water down?

Are her gums pink or pale/white? Moist or sticky?

If you press on her belly, any discomfort, tenderness, or tensing?

Could she have eaten something she should not have (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, etc)?

Is Star up to date on her vaccines?
