I am sorry to hear you are worried about Bailey. It sounds like he is trying to tell you something is wrong. Panting can be a sign of pain, internal illness, fever, lung problems, discomfort. Is he eating and drinking?

Expert:  Rebecca replied 9 days ago.

If I could, I would start with a thorough physical exam: listen to his heart and lungs, take his temperature (normal is between 101 and 102), palpate lymph nodes and internal organs, feel his back and joints joints and neck and check his reflexes.

If he is eating, and not vomiting, you could try baby aspirin for pain and see if helps. 1 baby aspirin or low dose aspirin per 15 to 20 pounds, less if he is smaller. Give with food. Do not give ibuprofen or Aleve.
