Customer Question

She was either bitten or scratched on the nose and chin by a possum in our yard. I cleaned the areas and plan to see the vet in the morning, but is there anything else I should do?
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Is the dog bleeding a lot?
Customer: No, just a bit and it stopped after I cleaned her up.
JA: Phew. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: She's a rescue and think she may be about 9 or 10. Her name is Lucy.
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Lucy?
Customer: She had cancer surgery about 9 months ago to remove some tumors and was told vaccines could cause tumors to return. A bit concerned about that.

How large is the wound? Is it gaping?

Any pus or discharge?

Is she up to date on her rabies vaccine?
