Amanda, I'm sorry to hear of this with Strummer. When the respiratory rate exceeds 30 breaths/minute at rest or when a dog is asleep, that dog is in trouble due to considerable pain, advanced cardiopulmonary disorders, or any metabolic disease that causes a metabolic acidosis (the blood becomes too acid/low pH). It's important that such a dog is attended to by a vet at your earliest convenience. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
