Customer Question

He ate my armor thyroid. Probably 35 pills that were 30 mg each.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The veterinarian will know if the dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Logan age 11 months. Lab mix. probably around 60 pounds.
JA: Is there anything else the veterinarian should be aware of about Logan?
Customer: no

Thanks
Expert:  Dr. Michael Salkin replied 19 days ago.

Please don't be alarmed. Your Armour product contains a very small amount of the active thyroid hormone of dogs. Even 35 pills doesn't approach how much of that hormone I would dose to a 60 lb dog. There's no reason to induce emesis or treat in any manner. As with ingesting anything unusual transient gastrointestinal distress in the form of inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea can arise but Logan wasn't intoxicated.

Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
