My 7-yr old male labradoodle has inflammatory bowel disease.

Customer Question

My 7-yr old male labradoodle has inflammatory bowel disease. he was put on a wormer yesterday; this morning he vomited watery pink fluid and is pretty lethargic. Should I take him to an emergency vet hospital or just stop the wormer and wait and see. I have already spent huge amounts of money treating the IBD.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. This sounds like it might be serious. I'll let the veterinarian know what's going on ASAP. Is there anything else important you think the veterinarian should know about the dog?
Customer: Is on daily prednisone and just had a vit. B shot on Friday. Has had IBD since July.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.

Had he had that wormer before?

Can he keep any water down?

Are his gums nice and pink (not white/pale)? Moist or sticky?

If you press on his belly, does he have any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain?

Could he have eaten anything he should not have (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, human meds, etc)?
