Anecdotal dosage recommendations for loperamide (Imodium) vary and no published evidence supporting one over the other is available. Most recommend 0.08-0.1 mg/kg thrice daily as needed, but dosages as high as 0.2 mg/kg 3-4 times daily have been noted. (10 lbs = 4.3 kg). Please note, however, that this drug should be avoided when diarrhea is due to invasive microorganisms . Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
