Hello i am Dr. pulter. Please give me a minute to type up a response.
At this point I am not sure if the lump on your dogs side is connected with the tick bite history and limp. Can you palpate the lump for me and tell me if it moves freely, or attached to under lying tissue? Are you able to tell if the lump is in the skin or under the skin? Can you see any redness or scabbing on the lump?
I am sorry poor Stella has all those ticks. Ticks do carry several blood diseases such as lyme disease, ehrlichia, anaplasmosis and some others. Most generally cause a fever, lethargy, sometimes joint pain and lameness. The lump on her side I do not think I would be able to tell you much about it without an exam. If Stella has not had a heartworm test (these also test for various tick borne diseases) that should be the first step.
Well if you have a product with tick prevention such as frontline plus or advantix, go ahead and apply this on Stella. This would protect her from gaining more ticks and more possibilities of disease transmission. I highly encourage you to seek an exam and testing on Stella as I cannot diagnose or treat through this modality. What you describe to me doesn't sound like an emergency, but nonetheless should be done soon.
You are welcome. please let me know if I can help with anything else
no problem. If you have a moment to rate our conversation that would be much appreciated.
