Safe over the counter analgesia consists of aspirin dosed at 10 mg/lb with food every 12 hours or acetaminophen dosed at 7 mg/lb thrice daily. You must avoid the toxic ibuprofen and naproxen. We want to see complete remission within a week of the onset of lameness. If not, his vet will want to carefully palpate your Yorkie's leg and spine. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.

He weights 6 pounds should I use baby aspirin
Expert:  Dr. Michael Salkin replied 1 month ago.

Yes, 6 lb x 10 mg/lb = 60 mg. Baby aspirin is 81 mg - close enough! Please continue our conversation if you wish.
