Customer Question

I have an 8 year old lab/ very large dog/about 90 pounds. Two days ago he started acting "off" Today he is trembling, drooling(Not excessively) I watched him in the yard and he kind of rocked back and forth in his hind quarters then stopped. His gums are pink, his breath is normal, I even rolled his penis and it looked healthy and I was able to squeeze a little urine out. He ate for me this morning - no vomiting. No temperature but his heart rate was faster than it should be. Any thoughts?
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The Veterinarian will know if the dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name?
Customer: Duke
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Duke?
Customer: No other health problems. Pretty typical happy go lucky fella.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner. If you would still like assistance, can you tell me:

Any retching, gagging, lip licking, drooling, or diarrhea?

Any changes to his thirst?

Are his gums nice and pink (not white/pale)? Moist or sticky?

Any changes in his mouth (ie redness, sores, lumps, etc)?

If you press on his belly, does he have any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain? Any discomfort elsewhere?

Could he have eaten anything he should not have (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, human meds, etc)?
