I have a 8 yr old female staffy and her breathing is about 35 breaths per minute, her stomach is contracting like she is struggling with bowel movement and she isn't really mobile. She weighs 24kg and I have given her one 100mg cardiprin asprin and she seems more comfortable. I can't afford to take her to after hours vet so wondering if what I have done ok and if there is anything else i can do to help her.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today.

Are her gums pink or pale/white?

Is she straining like she needs to pass stool?

Any gagging, retching, lip licking, drooling or vomiting?

If you press on her belly, any discomfort, tenderness, or tensing?

Could she have eaten something she should not have (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, etc)?
