Hello again

I have worked out an answer for you below.

1. Hopefully Cooper has something very minor, but yes you should be concerned, a dog which is drinking excessively is always a quite a worry as this can sometimes be the first sign of serious disease.

2. Let me give you a list of conditions which I would be initially considering when first presented with such a dog.

A. Diabetes mellitus - sugar diabetes - easy diagnosis via blood test
B. Diabetes insipidus - rare but does happen - catches vets out !
C. Kidney problems - diagnosed by blood tests
D. Chronic hepatitis or other liver problems - diagnosed via blood tests or imaging of the liver.
E. Cushings syndrome

3. I am sorry I cannot offer any home remedies here as I usually like to do, the diagnosis is so wide ranging this is not really possible. Accordingly all I can suggest is that you should have your vet check Cooper over as soon as possible, a quick blood test will quickly help your vet rule out or confirm the sort of diagnosis I have suggested above. You can then take it from there ..

4. Here is a good link to an accurate article on the subject so you can look at things in more depth : LINK
