Welcome to Justanswer! I am Dr. Altman and happy to assist you both today! So sorry Jenny has this swelling. I have a few questions for you:- Is the swelling just of the incision?- Her breathing is normal?- Is she scratching the area?- Her gums are nice and pink?
OK that can be normal, her gums are nice and pink and she is breathing normally?
If the swelling is not affecting her breathing, she is nice and pink please keep her quiet tonight and you can use cool compresses on the area to minimize further swelling. If her breathing does change or gums change to pale, blue, purple then please find a veterinary er in your area but likely this is the acute phase of the healing from the surgery and it will begin to subside within 24 hoursI hope this information makes sense but please let me know how else I can assist you both tonight

So some swelling at the incision is expected with the first 24 hours
