Ask a Dog Vet and Get Answers to Your Dog Veterinary Questions
Hello, JACustomer. I have been a Veterinary Nurse for over 15 years and would be happy to help you today. I'm reviewing your question right now.
Is Arleen exclusively indoors? Can you post a picture of her swollen paw? When did this start?
Can you post a picture of her swollen paw?Is she favoring it? Licking? Painful?
It will be hard to know without any obvious signs of issue what has caused this. I can give you some directions to try to help with discomfort and swelling, but if she is not greatly improved by tomorrow morning I would have her examined. If she is not on any other medication, you can try aspirin. The dosage is available here: http://www.veterinaryplace.com/dog-medicine/aspirin-for-dogs/Because she is licking, she may also benefit from antihistamines in the event that this might have been kicked off by allergies. My favorite for dogs is Zyrtec: http://cheyennewest.com/antihistamines-for-dogs-cats/
