Sorry for the wait.

We don't use decongestants in dogs as they are easily toxic. What we do use, is anti-histamines. Benadryl is the most commonly used and best tolerated. The dose in dogs is 1-2 mg per lb body weight. It can be given every 6-8 hours, as needed.

Allergy testing with a dermatologist would be ideal to determine what he is allergic to and then immunotherapy treatment can be very helpful for chronic allergies.
