She has not eaten or drank in the last couple of days. Lays

Customer Question

she has not eaten or drank in the last couple of days. Lays around. She does get up and move about at times. There has been no vomiting or diareah. I looked at her bottom and she does have a clear mucusy discharge
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. This sounds like it might be serious. I'll let the Veterinarian know what's going on ASAP. Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about the dog?
Customer: I don't think so. she is a 6 year old chihuahua

Where is the discharge coming from? Does it look like stool or urine?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
From her bottom. It is deffinately not urine.
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I did wipe her bottom just to see if the dicharge continues

She sounds like she is pretty ill. Does she show any interest in eating? Is she painful when you feel her belly?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No intetest in eating. I am going to try to squirt water down her just so she doesn't dehydrate
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No pain when i feel her belly
Expert:  Katie replied 2 months ago.

You can try to encourage her to eat baby food, warmed canned dog food or boiled hamburger/rice. If she is not eating or drinking, it may be time to take her to a veterinarian.

Ok. Will do. I know she needs to go, but nobody wants to help unless u can pay up front. Makes it hard when you are on a fixed income.
Expert:  Katie replied 2 months ago.

I understand and I am sorry to hear that. You can try adding water to soft canned dog food or baby food and syringe feed that to her as well.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
O ok. Will try that. Can i ask what type of baby food. Fruits? Vegetables?
Expert:  Katie replied 2 months ago.

Any type of meat baby food would be fine. Often times I use turkey, ham, chicken or roast beef.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
O ok. Sounds good. Thank you so very much.
Expert:  Katie replied 2 months ago.

Not a problem. I hope that she is feeling better soon!

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
