I think my pit might have eaten 1 aleve gel cap not sure

Customer Question

I think my pit might have eaten 1 aleve gel cap not sure though she is 55lbs about 30 minutes ago.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. What sort of animal are we talking about?
Customer: Pitbull
JA: Maybe I'm confused. I thought you had a problem with a pet. Is that correct?
Customer: She is a pitbull dog
JA: The Veterinarian will know if Pitbull will be able to digest that. Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Pitbull?
Customer: She is 11 months old

Naproxen (Aleve) isn't well-tolerated in dogs. At 2 mg/lb gastrointestinal ulceration can arise. At 7 mg/lb renal failure can occur. Your pit may have ingested 220 mg/55 lb or 4 mg/lb. It would be prudent to induce emesis with 45 mL (3 measuring tablespoons) of 3% hydrogen peroxide by means of a small poultry baster placed between her cheek teeth and cheek. She should vomit within 15 minutes. If not, the same dose should be administered once again. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
