Hi,

My name is***** and I am sorry to hear that Cooper ate the rovera (carprofen). How much does Cooper weigh? What size tablets are they?

Please let me know as soon as possible what these numbers are.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
He weighs 38 lbs and they are 75 mg

You need to make him vomit as soon as possible.

To induce vomiting, give him 2-3 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide by mouth and he should vomit in 5 to 15 minutes.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Ok I gave him 3 about 9 minutes ago

If he ate the tablets more than 1 hour ago, vomiting will not be as useful and you will need to consider taking him to the ER tonight for IV fluids and stomach protectants.

The primary side effects are vomiting, diarrhea, stomach ulcers, and at higher doses, kidney failure.

Expert:  Dr. Amanda replied 8 months ago.

If he vomits within 30 minutes of eating the tablets, he will likely be fine.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
He hasn't thrown up but he's pooping
Expert:  Dr. Amanda replied 8 months ago.

Okay. That's not going to do the trick. You need to take him to the ER now so they can induce vomiting, give him activated charcoal to bind up the carprofen and start IV fluids.

Good luck!

Hi,

How is Cooper doing this evening? Were you able to take him to the ER last night or your regular vet today? What treatments did he receive? Please let me know how he is doing, I was worried about him today.
