I have an 11.5 yr old chocolate lab with mast cell cancer on inside back leg with excessive swelling for 2 weeks.
She is on 40mg of prednasone 1x per day. 83 lb dog as of 09.10.16.
Also anti biotics 2x per day, 75mg of benadryl every 6 hours, pecid 10mg 2xdaily.
Not sure if I should go through with chemo, surgery if chemo shrinks swelling and tumor enough, and radiology at this age or just let her run her natural life with pain and prednasone treatment.

Hello, JACustomer. I have been a Veterinary Nurse for over 15 years and would be happy to help you today. I'm reviewing your question right now.

It does not appear that we have a veterinary oncologist available for consult. I would be happy to help you, however. Can you give me some additional info?

1) When was she diagnosed?
2) When did the swelling begin?
3) Do you have a picture of the area?
4) Have any meds been added after the swelling began?
5) Can you also tell me what state you're located in?
6) Have you consulted with an oncologist in person yet?
