Hi Pauline. There are a few things you can try this weekend to see if it helps. However, since he is new to you with no known veterinary care, it is going to be important to get him seen as soon as you are able. What type of dog? Is he neutered? What have you been feeding him?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Not sure on type dog, very small about 6 pounds. Solid white with a curled up tail and fluffey fur. He has not been neutered. f
Feeding him purino dog chow.

I apologize, I lost my internet access for about an hour. Did the system ask you to rate? I am a user like you and was not aware it did that automatically.

so, I would not feed regular dog food for now. Withhold food and water for at least 4-6 hours to allow his stomach to quiet down. You can give him Pepcid AC 1 mg per 2 pounds body weight to help with his nausea once daily. This evening try a small bland diet, such as boiled boneless chicken and white rice. Are there any programs through your local shelters that offer discounted veterinary care? I am in Maine and they have a few available.

Ok thanks, I'll give that a try and if it fails will def call a vet for exam. Found out he's a Schnauzer.

Cute. Schnauzers are one of the breeds that can have major issues with pancreatitis. Definitely get him on a bland low fat diet.
