Customer Question

He ate my nuvaring (birth control) out of the trash tonight.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The Veterinarian will know if the dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Mack and he'll be 3 years old in November
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Mack?
Customer: He's a golden retriever and is about 90 lbs

The amount of either progesterone or estrogen in the ring isn't enough to affect a dog. I'm more concerned about the ring itself passing through Mack's GI tract. It's quite flexible, however, which should facilitate its passage. I'm hopeful he also chewed it into pieces. Is there any evidence that that's the case?
