We think our daschound got shocked by our electric fence

Customer Question

We think our daschound got shocked by our electric fence about 2 hours ago. He is acting very lethargic almost catatonic. He is 16 lbs and 9 years old. We want to know if we should just let him be or take him to a vet.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Could be a lot of things that cause lethargy. The Veterinarian will know how to help the dachshund. What is the dachshund's name?
Customer: Scooby
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Scooby?
Customer: He has a history of seizures.

This is Dr. KV. I'm here to help with Scooby. I recommend taking him to your vet as soon as possible. Electrocution can cause serious injury such as burns and also lung damage. Your vet will be able to make sure his is ok. If he is in shock, he may not show pain right now.
