Hello,

Automatic, must go to ER vet immediately.

At this age, a horrible cough could even be heart related, to suggest a problem like congestive heart failure. Plus, with shaking and panting, those are both possible symptoms of issues like nausea, pain, or an underlying endocrine disorder like Cushing's or hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone). Plus, not eating, which would support the concerns for nausea or pain.

There is too much going on to suggest any delay in examination or trying over-the-counter therapy. Depending on the examination findings, and how the lungs sound, will dictate if the vet recommends any chest x-rays and/or a basic blood test.

Wish I could do more, but definitely well worth a visit as soon as possible!

Hope that information helps
