I am sorry to hear about this concern for Maddie.

It's possible that there may be an injury to the eye, typically a eye scratch which causes a corneal ulcer. That could possibly account for the eye rolling appearance and the change in the third eyelid.

Either way, definitely, this needs to be evaluated by a vet. Typically, a simple eye stain test can check for any ulcer, and the vet can prescribe appropriate medication.

Also, I can't rule-out a possible injury that occurred during the dental cleaning.

Sounds like a plan.

Good Luck.

Avoid any type of over-the-counter eye medication until the vet visit.
