Hi Sanda,

We don't have any scholarly studies that suggest that Garcinia Cambogia is of value in helping dogs lose weight. We have to be careful with citrus fruits in dogs. They aren't well-tolerated in dogs and so I'd be more comfortable if you try to convince mom to stick with the low fat diet for Erika. The commercial diet foods rarely are helpful, however. If I want to get a patient to lose weight, I'll send home a prescription diet such as Hill's r/d or Metabolic.

Erika is an elderly dog. A senior diet makes more sense if you can find such a diet where you live. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
