Customer Question

We have. A female rescue shiz/to who has tremendous itching, biting , and scratching problems.
Our current veterinarian placed her on a pure salmon food diet and antihistamine daily but the troubling behavior continues ,to the point that she now has significant hair loss on her legs, arms, and under her chin.
Our vet has also prescribed daily doses of probiotics and omega oils.....she continues the same behavior.
We tried apoquel recently but discontinued it when she became lethargic ,developed diarrhea, and began vomiting. Our understanding is that the apoquel should not be detrimental, although we have read very limited data concerning how the immune system is shut down by this drug and may effect the liver. Your input about this drug is solicited.
We've declined to have extensive allergy testing done because of the very high cost and inconclusiveness of this test. Your input about such a test is also solicited.
She develops fungal and bacterial infections regularly as a result of the constant biting ,etc.
We're at a loss and very discouraged ----can you help?
Thank you in advance.
