How old and which breed is your dog, please? When both eyes are discharging I consider an allergic or irritant conjunctivitis, a failure to produce enough tears, or perhaps abnormalities associated with the eyelids or eyelashes if this has been a chronic problem.

Dog is a rescuer German Shepard and Akita 8 months old. We have him about a month. Discharge just started yesterday green eye boogers. I put visine in yesterday and it has helped. Slight discharge today

Thank you. It's best to avoid products containing decongestants such as Visine because although they can "get the red out" they can mask serious disorders by doing so. Consider an over the counter ophthalmic antihistamine such as Zaditor (ketotifen) instead at an adult dose. Be sure to clean away any discharge prior to administering the drops.
