Ask a Dog Vet and Get Answers to Your Dog Veterinary Questions
Good Morning and welcome! I am Dr. Loretta, a licensed veterinarian and I am happy to answer your question.
If you feel that sweet Taffy is constipated, the best thing to do is to purchase Laxatone or Petromalt at the pet store and give Taffy a small dose of this every 4 hrs. This adds lubrication to the stool so it is easier for her to have a bowel movement. There are some cases that may require an enema but this should ONLY be done by your vet. If this treatment does not help after a day, take Taffy to the ER vet for treatment. In most cases, however, this treatment is very effective even though this product is often used for cats.Does that make sense to you?
Please let me know if you have ANY other questions. My goal is to give you 100% satisfaction and if you are not yet satisfied, please REPLY so I can clarify for you.Sincerely, ***** *****
