I have a small dog on Theophylline 100mg ER tablets(1/2 tablet two times per day) to relieve bronchial congestion. They have been discontinued. What might I use to achieve a similar result?

Please consider the beta-2 agonists terbutaline (small dogs 0.625-1.25 mg orally every 12 hours) or albuterol (0.05 mg/kg orally every 8 hours). These are available through Skipper's vet. Antiinflammatory corticosteroids which are inhaled through a metered dose inhaler (MDI) such as fluticasone (one puff (110-220 mcg every 8-12 hours) can be very helpful as well. Skipper's vet can order an MDI and the fluticasone for Skipper.Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
