Customer Question

I have a miniature Schnauzer (12 years). Last night she was great, jumping around, then later on in the evening (after her walk), she was not herself. All she did was lay there, shallow breathing and it looked like Sarah was staring into space. What is wrong with my baby.

I'm sorry to hear of this with Sarah. May I have an update on her, please? Her abrupt change in behavior, breathing, and staring are important symptoms but they're not pathognomonic (specifically indicative) of any one disorder. Her staring, however, demonstrates a change in mentation (mental status) suggestive of either primary brain disorder (stroke-like such as a TIA - transient ischemic attack) or a metabolic disorder that's affecting her brain. Have any other symptoms arisen that might help localize her disorder?

Does Sarah have a history of a heart murmur or heart disease?

No, matter of fact, she's been healthy, she is all muscle, no fat
